NIM Tooling - Digitally Signed API's

Hi, so we are starting to look at the NIM tooling for deploying the RASR image down to some hosts.

The main issue I am having due to workplace policies, is that we require the API's to be digitally signed, does anyone know if there is a version that is signed?

Thanks

Danny

Hi,

Thanks for your question. For the API or for the application? I didn’t see any other versions besides the ones on the support site. https://dell.to/3HMPEyA

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Hi Josh, thanks for the reply. Sadly because Dell have decided not to digitally sign the API's, and my companies policy not to allow unsigned modules to be installed I am at a crossroads.

Are you able to manually install using the procedures here? https://dell.to/3IdSTQJ

If you are a Dell partner this article may help. https://dell.to/3If1XFh but if not those steps would require phone support to walk you through. It allows you to mount the iso directly to the iDRAC.

Hi Josh, I am now trying via a VM and bridged connection. From the VM I can reach the folder containing the .ISO, but when completing the validation it connects and confirms the iDRAC is ok, then fails trying to connect the remote image. From the iDRAC I can reach the share without any issues, so now getting further but still stuck.

Hi Josh, I do work for a partner, so have access to the KB you linked to.

On the iDRAC I started a session and mapped a virtual media to the ISO I am using for the vxrail-nim --setup/--validate and maps ok. The --setup completes ok, when running the --validate however, it drops the locally mapped virtual media, but then fails to connect the remote image.

Is the iso on the same subnet? It may be helpful to call phone support, but I am not sure if they will have another solution to not run into the digital signature on the API.

Having the same issue as far as connecting the the ISO share is concerned. Can connect just fine via iDRAC's web UI, or using racadm via CLI with the same credentials. Extremely frustrating - we're trying to use this to update a set of hardware that sat in storage for a year, so want to start from 7.0.410 and not 4.7.530.
