How to add Physical Disks to vxrail cluster

There are 4 vxrail nodes in the environment. I will add 1 physical disk to each node. How should I do disk expansion? Do I add one for each node and VMware expand the vsan cluster ? Or will the vsan cluster expand automatically when you add the nodes one by one? There is 1 vsan datastore on vmware.
