Dell based VxRail support with Dell OpenManage software
For existing Dell server customers can they discover the Dell based VxRail nodes using OpenManage software?
There seems to be some similarities between OpenManage and VxRail manager, but it appears OpenManage would provide a usable mobile application and other monitoring/alerting capabilities that would blend nicely with an existing Dell environment.
The OpenManage Essentials systems management console solution simplifies and automates your most essential hardware management tasks with:
- Rapid deployment of PowerEdge servers, operating systems, and agent-free updates
- Maintenance of policy-based configuration profiles in less time with greater accuracy
- Streamlined template-driven network setup and management for Dell Modular Infrastructure
Designed for easy installation and use, OpenManage Essentials also monitors the health status of both Dell and multi-vendor hardware environments – including anytime, anywhere access to status and alerts through OpenManage Mobile-equipped handheld devices.
Agent-Free Performance Monitoring
Monitor basic memory, CPU, and I/O performance metrics through iDRAC No need for OS agents to monitor performance! And no impact to the OS or any of the components. Plus, customizable thresholds can alert via SNMP, RACADM, or WSman when warning/critical levels are crossed.
