Dell EMC VxRail Release Notes: More than Marginalia
For each VxRail family there is a Release Notes document, for example:
VxRail Family: |
Corresponding vSphere Version |
Release Notes Document |
VxRail version 4.5 |
6.5 |
Navigate to the Dell Support site, login, and then search for the term “release”. |
VxRail version 4.7 |
6.7 |
|
VxRail version 7.0 |
7.0 |
Every time a new version of VxRail is released the corresponding Release Notes are updated and the document’s Revision History is updated. Release Notes cover three major items for each VxRail Release:
- What’s New
- Fixed Issues
- Known Issues and their associated Workarounds
While VxRail Release Notes cover what’s directly impacted by each VxRail Composite Upgrade Package version i.e.: 7.0.000, 7.0.010, 7.0.100, 7.0.101, 7.0.130, 7.0.131, 7.0.132, 7.0.200, 7.0.201, 7.0.202, 7.0.203, 7.0.210, 7.0.240, 7.0.241, 7.0.300 etc., separate but related software items are not covered and may need to be followed separately, some examples:
- VCF on VxRail: Click on the link for the release Notes for a given VCF software bundle in SDDC Manager
- Ansible Modules for Dell EMC VxRail: https://github.com/dell/ansible-vxrail
- VxRail API PowerShell Modules: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/vxrail-appliance-series/drivers (Search for “PowerShell”)
- VxRail API Guide: https://dl.dell.com/content/docu91468_vxrail-appliance-4-5-x-4-7-x-and-7-0-x-api-guide.pdf?language=en_us
