Vplex Upgrade

Hi.

I have a couple of VPLEX VS2 boxes that I want to run as METRO configuration. But before that I want to upgrade the firmware. Current version is 5.1.

The problem is that when I try to upgrade to a new version (for example version 5.4) I get the error which states as follows:

"This upgrade path is not supported"

Can anybody help me with that?

Thanks.

Also any upgrade action is a Dell EMC action only and requires that SolVe Engine Activity (CCA) be submitted. Please contact your Dell EMC Field Representative and discuss this upgrade with them and they will collect the necessary data and logs and submit the SolVe Engine Activity for the planned the upgrade.

Code upgrades must be done through a SR. I believe you need to go to 5.3 first before 5.4

Thanks for the help. I know we need EMC to do this kind of upgrade. But we had this box and it had nothing on it. So I just thought I give it a try following the instruction as there's no risk of data loss.

Infact I was able to upgrade to geosynchrony 5.3.

But after the device rebooted it didn't come up. When I connected through the serial port I found something went wrong with btrfs file system.

Now Google says that btrfs file system can be restored and recovered.

Now the question is. Is it possible to burn the management.iso on a disk and boot the device from the cdrom. If it is possible then there's no need to take the pain to restore a corrupted file system.
