vplex local system upgrade-6.2

I have vPlex local system running with 5.5,so we are planning to upgrade to 6.2.( 6.2.0.03.00.02)

While doing pre-checks,found that KB about  eLicense KBs (For 6.1.x only):

  •             524774 - VPLEX: 'ndu pre-check' warning after upgrading to GeoSynchrony 6.1 get the following message: "No license found on cluster(s) - 'cluster-1, cluster-2'. Install valid license through either Unisphere or VPLEX CLI",

Is this applicable only to vPlex Metro ? is it applies to vPlex Local.

Even I can’t find license details when I type command license show in vPlex 5.5.

So please some one can help me on this please

Thanks in advance

Its applicable. You have to have support give you a license. Regardless VPLEX will function will without the license without restrictions. You will see an error in the GUI until you provide the license.

Thanks ankur.

I m not sure whether we do have license or not on vPlex 5.5 and also in GUI,vplex does not give us any warning about license message, as vPlex system running fine so far since years .

So then we can upgrade vPlex to 6.2 SP3  without any issue with no license install(eLicense ),correct me if I m wrong ?

However we do have another vPlex 6.0 as well where I ran command license show and it says that Unlicensed: VPLEX Trial.

There was no license until 6.x. You can upgrade to 6.2 P3 without any issue even if you dont have an elicense. What you should do is open a SR to get the licenses so you dont see any cosmetic errors in the GUI.
