VPLEX device mobility to a bigger sized lun
Hi All
We need to migrate a lun from XIO - 7 TB to VMAX lun which needs to be 15 TB. Both are behind VPLEX. For this scenario, do we need to first use VPLEX Mobility and migrate a 7 TB XIO lun to 7 TB VMAX lun and then need to expand VMAX lun to achieve 15 TB (OR) can we use VPLEX Mobility and directly migrate from 7 TB XIO lun to a 15 TB VMAX lun. Will the extra space on vmax lun be usable to store host IO

Hi,
Like you had mentioned, The Mobility has to be done first with same size Vmax lun. Extra space can not be claimed in the traget lun. After the mobility job is complete, the 7 tb Vmax lun has to be extended.

Do the data mobility for 7 TB first, Then you can expand the same LUNs is the OS support that. other wise you can create another LUN and map it to the host and expand your file system from OS layer
