VPLEX Deployment

Hi, I am newbie and need few information on VPLEX to deploy in our datacenter. 1. Does VPLEX is hardware or a software appliance? 2. What is the mechanism to deploy VPLEX? 3. What is the latest version of VPLEX? 4. Does VPLEX support rest based API calls 5. What is the efficient way to create volumes on VPLEX Thanks, Vedanu
