Vplex array decommissioning

In my environment I have 2 VPLEX VS2 arrays that we are decommissioning.  They are set up as metro and are in different locations.  Each cluster has 1 vmax array attached to it and on those vmax arrays contain the meta data luns.  There are NO storage views or virtual volumes on either vplex array, only metas.

SO I need a guide to follow in order to decom these arrays.  Is there one out there?  I couldnt seem to find one on the Solve site, only how to shut the array down.

If anyone has a procedure that would be great.  I guess turning off alarms would be step one and that is all I know..lol

Thanks...

Hi ,

The meta-volumes have to be destroyed first. and then a factroy reset of both the clusters has to be performed. Then the VPlex can be shutdown using the solve procedure. But, may I know the strategy behind or reason why the VPlex is being decommissioned ?

Thanks,

Thank you.  We have all flash vmax arrays in all our data centers now so we dont need the vplex arrays.  We are using SRDF.  We are a 95% EMC shop.

Hi, You can open Live chat(https://support.emc.com/products/29384?siteLocale=en_US) with VPlex Support, so that they will provides SolveDesktop procedure to Decomm the VPlex array based on VPlex version or They will dispatch the Case to field for CE to perform the denomination. Regards, Sairam
