Vostro 200 bricked after bios update
Hello i have an old vostro 200. I have tried to update the bios from 1.0.11 to 1.0.16. It failed with encountered a problem.
I finally switched it off but now it wont boot, no boot menu just fans spinning.
Is there any way back or is it scrap?

You can try to recover by pulling the CMOS battery per the instructions here. Leave the battery out for at least 15 minutes and then replace the battery with a newly purchased battery. But if the BIOS update had a problem and you shutdown the system then in all likelihood the MB is bricked. But at 15 years old the system has paid for itself many times over and time for a replacement.
