Unisphere for PowerMax issue Create SG
I am using Unisphere for PowerMax 9.1.0.14 and VMAX250F, VMAX100K
I get a issue in one of the wizards when creating SG:
Storage -> Volumes -> select a volume and click Create SG
An error appears when executing a task:
Task failed
Starting Tasks ...
Compression is not supported on Symmetrix
In other wizards performing the same task no problems,
e.g. Storage -> Storage Group -> Create new SG, or Modify exist SG -> Volumes tab -> Add Volumes to SG
Unisphere 9.1.0.14 vApp 9.1.0.690
VMAX250F (SRP - Compression Disabled)
VMAX100K
HyperMax OS 5977.1131.1131

Hello danmind,
You can disable compression when creating your storage group. To turn the feature off on a particular storage group or storage resource, uncheck the Compression check box in the in the Create Storage Group, Modify Storage Group or Add Storage Resource To Storage Container dialogs or when using the Provision Storage or Create Storage Container wizards.

There is no checkbox compress on any form of wizard Unisphere 9.1. And in the unisphere 8.4.0.15 I also can’t find checkbox. I think in our configuration there is no i/o module for compression.

Have you tried to create the SG using symcli to see if you get the same error?

Yes, creating the SG via symcli or unisphere 8.4 is successful, without errors. The errors occurs only in Unisphere 9.
