what is the best spy ware blocker?

I recently found out that my computer was badly infested with spy ware.  A friend of mine told me about a web site to download "Spy Sweeper".  Is this a good spyware program or is there one that would work better?

Spywareblaster from Javacool is highly thought of once you get rid of whatever spyware you have. This program is preventative in nature.Go here to download:

Adaware is a good tool to check your system and it will remove spyware:

SpyBot S&D is recommended also, although I have no experience with it:

SpySweeper I don't use. Looks like it is $29.95 for the subscription:

Spyware and other malware can enter your PC in a number of ways. The best protection is an array of defenses and a disaster recovery plan.

Spyware Blaster and Spyware Guard are both free and designed for prevention. Spybot S&D is free and includes an Immunization feature. Spybot S&D and the free version of AdAware are recommended for detection and removal.

I've been without malware for nearly two years, and it's largely due to limiting Windows and Internet Explorer features, applying critical updates in a timely fashion, and using the programs mentioned above. Norton Systemworks, a hardware firewall and software firewalls on each PC may have also contributed.

I would be remiss if I offered my opinion without referring you to the expert community that informs my selections. They're all listed there in ChrisRLG's signature, a few posts above.
