Hi mates,
Since I was hopeless to have a good technical support from Dell, I decided to look for an alternative to fix this issue related to the micro for my self.
I downloaded this version of Skype and now it works flawless, however I am quite disappointed of Dell support. This for sure will be last time II buy a Dell product...

Any solution about this issue mate?? Its getting annoying and the crackling noise when I am typing is the same... Am bout to throw this away....

Same problem for me. Works fine in dell hardware test and Evernote but not Skype.

Yep just found out about this issue, Dad has it and told me about it, looks like it is universal. Other apps work like Google Hangouts. Reinstalling does not help.

FYI, I found this "solution" elsewhere but didn't work for me... unless I'm misunderstanding something:
If you have Google Now set to open from any screen by saying "OK Google" try switching it to only respond to "OK Google" from within the Google Search app.

Reading up on this seems like many makes and models of Android devices are having the same issue, with Kit Kat as well. Seems like the common denominator is any Skype version 4.x. There are downloads for 3.2 around that folks have said works so I'll give that a try.

Nice I'll have to try when I get a chance. I've never had issues with Dell Windows products so I'm faithful to Dell. Android still new kid on the block and from what I've read other makers have had issues with the mic as well for Androids version of skype so don't think it's a Dell thing.

Awesome works great.
