Corrupt Bios

Hello, I am wondering if anyone has had a similar issue.

When attempting to update the Drivers on a Power Edge T140 and a Power Edge T340, the Bios Update

fails. It says that the Bios was corrupt.

I am using the Dell Server Update Utility, I also tried to manually download the just the Bios driver from the dell site

but it also failed saying it was corrupt.

Both Devices are running on Microsoft Windows Server 2019 Standard x64.

Any help is appreciated, not sure if I am in the right forum though lol.

Hello,

Try a flea power drain and update BIOS in the LifeCycle controller

Redownload BIOS update file in case the one you have is corrupted:

Select from the link below:

File Format: Update Package for MS Windows 64-Bit.

File Name: BIOS_0MPD4_WN64_2.16.0.EXE

Dell Server PowerEdge BIOS R340/R240/T340/T140 Version 2.16.0

https://dell.to/3XXcUU6

drain flea power (shut down, disconnect power cables and Network cables, hold in power button 20 seconds with cords removed). After flea power drain, system has to set for 3 minutes for DRAC to reset without any power plugged in, then plug in NIC and power but wait 2 minutes before power on to give DRAC time to initialize.

Boot into the LifeCycle controller <F10>, go to Updates and supply the windows .exe file from a thumb drive.

@DELL-Charles R Thank you for the response, I am not physically at the location where this server is so I will have to find a time and a maintenance window where I can give this a try.

Thank you.
