@obbietwice ,
You could uninstall it and reinstall it and see if that helps. Personally, I think SupportAssist is more trouble than it is worth. Many Dell customers, myself included, never used SupportAssist while our computers were under warranty, and then we promptly installed it when the warranty expired.
You can find new drivers by going to the Dell Support site and entering your Service Tag. That is what I do every Friday for both of my Dell computers, one of which is a Dell XPS 15 7590.
If you need to scan hardware because of a suspected hardware issue, you can run ePSA.

It is included in most Dell models, if not all.
I do not work for Dell. The opinions expressed are my personal opinions.
Have a great day.

FYI - I had the same issue with mine on a brand new, outta the box, system, so I uninstalled SA version 4.x, but now I can't reinstall it. It worked fine for a few days, that is until it received an update to SA and then stopped working. I opened a case and have had several Dell techs work on the issue; I'm currently awaiting an Application Engineer to see if they can resolve the issue. Fingers crossed!
