Support Assist Get Drivers and Downloads doesn't work

Support Assist on Windows 11 Inspiron 16plus 7610

Unable to check for drivers and download updates through Support Assist. Both on computer and on web gives the following error "Unable to download. We're sorry, there's a network delay. Please check your internet connection and try again".

Internet connection is working.

Was working yesterday.

Did Windows 11 quality update successfully today.

I’m having this issue as well. Uninstalled and reinstalled, all other tests work now but still not the drivers and downloads running Win 11 on Inspiron 3593...

Hi sdbensonz28:

You've posted in a thread started in Feb 2022 about an older version of SupportAssist v3.10.4.18 that was solved within a few hours after Dell fixed a connection problem to their backend servers.

I'd suggest you start a new thread in this SupportAssist for PCs board so your problem receives better exposure. Be sure to include your Dell computer model (Inspiron 3593), full details for your Win 11 OS [include your edition (e.g., Home, Pro, etc.), version and build number shown at Settings | System | About | Windows Specifications], your BIOS version [open a Run dialog box (Windows+R keys), enter msinfo32 to open your System Information panel, and look for the “BIOS Version/Date” field], and your Dell SupportAssist version listed at Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features.

Note that there are many users having issues installing or running the current SupportAssist v3.11.4.29 that was released on 23-Jun-2022 (as well as a new v3.12.2.40 that just starting to roll out to a small number of users) - please my 07-Oct-2022 post in MickBurke's BRAND NEW Dell Can't Run SupportAssist about the revised minimum system requirements for newer versions of SupportAssist as well as comments about some unique security features in Win 11 that might be causing issues with SupportAssist that Dell did not anticipate.

If you want to try the Dell Update v4.x app suggested in MickBurke's thread while you're waiting for Dell to fix some of the bugs in SupportAssist v3.11.4.29 then go to https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us?app=products and enter your unique Service Tag, which should re-direct you to the support page for <here> for your Inspiron 3593. I'm guessing that Dell Update Windows Universal Application v4.6.0 (Dell-Update-Application_RYXN2_WIN_4.6.0_A00.EXE, released 24-Aug-2022) will be recommended for your computer model and Service Tag.

Batracien,

Currently, we see that it's an internal issue and the backend team is working on it. It might take up to a few hours to get this corrected.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Had this answer in PM

The Support Assist application might require a reinstallation. Please try the steps below.

Please use the Revo Uninstaller application from the link below and uninstall Support Assist.

https://dell.to/3gRkokX

After the uninstallation, continue on the Uninstaller page and perform a scan and delete all the folders that belong to Support Assist.

Once done, install Support Assist from the link below.

I doubt it would work, looks more like a server issue.

If somemone wants to try, let us know

I have several Windows 10 machines, all with the same error.  Tried uninstalling Support Assist and went back to Dell, but would error out when needing to download new one.  Was able to manually download and install Support Assist from dedicated page, but it still was not able to connect.  The problem is definitely with Dell.

@Batracien

I also received those steps. I completed them. And as you suspected, it did not fix the issue.

I am still having this problem as of 1:20pm Feb 18 2022. Exactly as described in original post. So it seems it is NOT solved.

SupportAssist will not open nor can I uninstall it. When I use the installer from Dell website, it says the program is already installed and is up to date, but it doesn't show up in programs. When I go to uninstall, it doesn't even show the program.  This only started the past week.
