Problem with MyDell updating

Hi. I just tried to open 'MyDell' and it said there is an update which I must install to be able to continue to use 'MyDell', but it won't install, says to check my network connection! There is nothing wrong with the connection, even tried disabling the anti virus, firewall and all other security  including VPN and everything else that is likely to cause such a problem, still it won't update so still I can't use 'MyDell' - Anybody any ideas how to fix this issue, there are no error codes and no information why it wont install the critical update. (Inspiron 5502 purchased 3 weeks ago direct from Dell France ( not at all happy with Dell France, no problem at all with Dell UK or Dell USA) Thanks in advance for the help to fix this.

Hi. For me the solution was something called  Fusion Service -

My Dell Fusion Service This package contains the Fusion Service used by the My Dell and My Alienware application. The My Dell and My Alienware are application software that provide a single point to access features such as self help articles, settings, accessories, software, and SupportAssist. The Dell Fusion Service provides services needed by My Dell and My Alienware to enable these features.

I downloaded manually from Mydell online, version for windows 10, now everything is working correctly. I'm on windows 11 so i think in my case the problem was missing update for 11 so SupportAssist didn't find new drivers.

Hi WA2NRC:

Have you tried updating the Fusion Service required to run newer versions of My Dell as suggested in this thread? If not, follow my instructions <above> to find the support page for your Dell computer model where you can download the latest Fusion Service update recommended for your system (currently v2.0.58.0 for most Dell computers). Download the .exe installer and save to your to your Windows desktop, right-click the file and choose "Run as Administrator", and follow the remaining prompts to install the update. It might not appear that anything is happening for a minute or so but you should eventually see the pop-up shown below confirming that the installer ran to completion.

If your require further assistance post back and let us know the model of your Dell computer and your Windows operating system.  If you have a Win 10 or Win 11 OS please include the version and build shown at Settings | System | About | Windows Specifications.

I've had this same problem. I tried uninstalling the MyDell app and reinstalling it from the Microsoft Store, but I get the same error.

Same issue.  Update does not load, says to check internet connection.  I tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling via the microsoft app store...still no success.  Hopefully Dell will correct the update in the near future.

Hello All those having a problem with 'My Dell' I am currently working with Dell (taken me 47 hours so far) to get this fixed. It is really hard work too! It appears this problem may have been caused on about the 7 April and has taken a time to imbed itself into the system. If and when I get this resolved I will let you all know what caused this or what I believe caused it (I have a good idea now, but we will see!) Incidentally my machine is the Inspiron 5502 purchased on the 27 March 2021;

I've done a bit more search for the problem with my machine and interestingly I note that there was an system error warning created before the machine left the Dell factory 2 weeks before I took delivery and then when I did my setup of personalisation and it received and automated Windows update on the 7 April at 16.46hrs, that appeared to sow the seed and this triggered a cascade effect when the Dell Updater activated and updated a Intel(R) Graphics Driver and various Storage Controllers. I can see all this via the Event Viewer very clearly. The effects are a bit like a virus, sadly Dell are really dragging their heals sorting this out, they have, at my insistence, taken control of my machine a couple of times but unless you get the right technician that is sympathetic to your problem, you will have a struggle getting anywhere and even when you get them to do something, again unless you are really lucky, you have to show them where to go, where to look and what to look for. I am not a computer nerd, I put the work in myself because I wasn't able to get help from Dell, the problem, I am told has been 'escalated' and I will be notified when they have found an answer!!!!! I am now about to start my seventh day of getting a fix!! So, watch this space. Please feel free to share this, it will be interesting to see how many others have and are having the problem with "My Dell" since the start of April 2021.

Dell-Cares have contacted me and asked for some details of the error to SMaC_Support@Dell.com, which I have sent to them. Apparently they're going to review it 'internally', whatever that means!

Hi, do you know if the problem started following a Drivers update by either the Windows OS Updater for Intel(R) Drivers and/or Dell Drivers, that's when it appears my problems started on the 7 April at 16.43 Paris Time. I'm not blaming or pointing fingers at anybody, its one of those things but I would like Dell to move themselves to fix this. Please let me know how you all get on. Thx.

I really don't know when the problem started exactly. I've received my Inspiron 7706 2n1 on April 30th at 2 pm, and started immediately my personal setup of Windows, Office, email, etc ... Windows Update, Dell Update, Microsoft Store updater started too, but as I have a low internet connexion I suspended all large apps and some drivers upload. My Dell app was working fine till Monday May 3th, and then I have the same problem as you. I've finished all the installation two days later at another location with good internet connexion, but My Dell still doesn't want to update, Waiting for Dell response.
