Issues with Windows 10 reinstall - freezing at every stage

Like many people, I have had issues reinstalling windows. First, I had the freezing at the SupportAssist OS Recovery screen. Then, I tried the OS recovery tool on  clean USB drive (opted for the Reinstall Manually option because I just wanted a fresh start). I get through the installing windows in the Windows Setup, select Windows 10, and then when it gets to "getting devices ready" it freezes at 8%. HELP PLEASE.
