How to restore/extract file from SupportAssist
Inspiron 5400 AIO
Hi,
I had to do a system restore recently and saw the attached popup from the Dell Recovery Assistant. Reviewing the "Backup Files List" I noticed that there were a few folders I forgot about. Given that is says my files have been retrieved and I can see their names, how do/can I recover them? TIA

Did you click the Next button on that screen ?
Did you look on your storage drive using Windows Explorer (or a Windows Search) to see if the recovered files are back where you'd expect them to be?

@RoHe
Clicking on the next button just goes down the menu to check for software and to check for updates. I tried windows search, but nothing came up.

If not already, you might want to try the "Get help now" button on the lower-right in this forum. While we can't fix Dell software (other than to escalate the problem), it doesn't sound like we have a workaround for it either.
Others can always chime in if they do find a workaround.

I tried some recovery tools with no success. The files I forgot about were mostly music, so I'm considering just accepting the loss and streaming since "Get Help Now" needs a $99 payment to attempt a recovery. 😞

Sorry to see they want $99 to make their software work like it should.
I have music on 2 external HDD's. One is the one I play music from and the other is backup. That way music stays the same thru software changes.
