Why is my computer making grinding noises?
Ok i now there are hundreds of questions out there that are asking the same thing but I can't seem to find one the matches my problem. I play sims3 and i was installing an expansion pack i got about half way through installing at my disk drive(almost positive this it where the problem is) starting making this awful noise. I ejected the game and it stopped as soon as the disk was out of the drive. It has never done this for any of my other sims games but it has done this before. It has done the same thing before when i was watching a movie. I just don't understand why it only does it with certain disks because should all the sims disks be the same?
ps i have a Dell HP G60 laptop if that makes and difference. <

The noise you hear is the drive reading the disc. The laser head in moving in the drive across the disc. It may be normal. It depends how the disc it is reading is written. Finish installing the Sims3 expansion pack. If it completes, all is well and normal.
