Restore Activity tries to restore deleted shortcuts (EmailXtender)

We're fully restoring all user mailboxes on a SourceOne environment which started with EmailXtender in the past.

This seems to go right for all users, only a few (let's say 12 out of 3100) fail.

The strange thing is that these all fail after 59 failed items. (Why? Is there a threshold?)

The other strange thing, all these failures aren't in the mailbox anymore (stub deleted). So SourceOne is still trying to restore these shortcuts, this isn't as designed?

Does anyone have any idea?

Hi Rajan,

It seems to be that there's a problem with the items that have been deleted from the Soft Deleted Items folder. When I uncheck this box while updating the Activity, the mailboxes get processed as it should.

I don't know if this is updated for version 7.1 SP2?

The customer has ES1 6.8 SP1 installed.

Thanks for your reply!

Can you modify this 50 error message value somewhere in SQL?

SourceOne has inbuilt mechamism that if there are 50 error mesages in a row then that job will be stopped by dispatcher. In regards to 59 the only theory i can think of is that being multithreaded with 10 threads runni g by the time 50th continues failure is seen job could be aleady on 59th failure.

In regards to job restoring messages that do not exist in mailbox that would be odd but i have come accross in my past life that you may have items in mailbox that will not be visible in my case i were able to see thst through owa. See if that is applicable in your case as well.

Hi Ben,

I am not aware of any setting in DB that could be modified to increase the fail count. I believe it is in the code. I realised you may have already contacted EMC support, they may be able to find out root cause of the issue instead of trying to work around the issue by increasing the allowed failure count.

Best regards,

Rajan

Hi Ben,

I believe there is an sdr in 7.1.sp2 which had something to do with soft deletes/dumpster. Please check release notes. I do not have those handy otherwise would be checked for you.
