EMC Source One - Malware/Virus Detection

Hi Everyone,

I am just new to EMC source one.

We currently have EMC source one setup in our company. I am in charge of managing our Symantec Antivirus.

I noticed from our Symantec virus logs that we keep on having different kinds of detection from this path

F:\EMC SourceOne IndexWork\DGD PARK folder_3004506_006\UTF8\41CEB98185C24E8DC02EC62294A73CBF50BDFC32FE014BE200.dir\

Example :

F:\EMC SourceOne IndexWork\DGD PARK folder_234556_023\UTF8\596C6BDF490A2C6C6AAAB85AB93AED9489522FF02DC813D500.dir\document.pdf

Detected as: Trojan.DAM by symantec antivirus

I would like to know if it is recommended to exclude this from the scan? It seems that EMC source archives the files in that directory.

If possible, please give me insights on what this directory of EMC source one is for?

Thank you,

Michael

You'll need to exclude all working directories from the Anti-Virus on the SourceOne servers. Anti-virus/malware detection should be done on mail server (Exchange/Domino/O365) side.

Hi Michael,

Please refer to DELL EMC SourceOne Email Management installation and Administration guides for AV recommendations.

What Ben mentioned is what you will find in docs.

If you do have impacted messages please work with DELL EMC SourceOne support team.

Regards,

Rajan
