Replistor for Exchange 2003 Sync Needed

I have set up a failover server for our Exchange 2003 environment.  It appears to be replicating all of the files without trouble.

However, the specifications all say "SYNC NEEDED" and I set each to Sync, but they have not made any progress in several days.  Meanwhile, log files, .edb files, etc. are all being replicated.

What did I miss?

Thanks,

Dave

You did not mention which version of RS you are using but in general if it says a sync is needed it is needed.  I recommend you disable the specifications and do a delete data directory on both the souece and target nodes.  Then enable and re-sync the specifications.

However, since you are also using an Alias you should schedule an outage as a precaution against your outlook clients losing contact with Exchange.  The Delete Data Directory will result in the Alias being de-activated and that will stop Exchange services.

If you have concerns about how to perform any of these functions I recommend you contact EMC Support.

Hi,

Please confirm the log.

Are neither warning nor the error displayed?

Thanks.

I’ve already deleted the specifications, data directories, etc., and kicked off a sync.

I’ll contact support.
