Hi Travis, the EMC Proven Professional certification program is designed as a role based program because we view certification as representation of readiness to perform a role. A role based program takes into account a number of factors that are unique to a specific role. Within each role (i.e. EMCIE), it is possible to build upon previously earned certifications by moving through our Associate, Specialist and Expert certifications.

The training & curriculum associated with certain roles is made available only to specific audiences.  While students can sit for any EMC Proven Professional certification exam, the recommended curriculum might not be available to you.  You can always gauge your knowledge on our practice tests to determine if your work experiences might provide enough background for a successful exam result.

You can find a list of all our exam descriptions and practice tests here.

Additionally, Rakesh makes a good point, though the EMCISA associate is no longer the only option. All of the EMC Specialist and Expert certifications require an Associate level certification in addition to the actual specialist/expert exam.  EMC offers 5 Associate level paths and all are open to anyone in the industry.  More detail on Associate offerings can be found here.

Hi Travis,

Yes, you can opt for EMCIE, however before that you need to complete EMC-ISA-v2. This is prerequisite for any certification of EMC Storage.

Rakesh

You're welcome Travis!  Currently the XtremIO curriculum is only available to partners, the exam # is E22-258 but you won't be able to consume the training unless you work for a partner company.

Not sure I understand your question on 'cloud rack'.  We do offer several certifications relating to cloud environments and quite of few of those are open to the industry.  You can view details of these under the Cloud Architect (EMCCA) track on the certification framework.

The training identified at the bottom of each exam description document is the recommended training for that exam.  Though highly suggested, training is not a formal requirement for taking an exam.

Please note though that we take exam security very seriously and the only authorized training materials are through EMC.  Candidates who use "dump sites" and such will be putting their certification status at risk.

That being said, you can use the practice tests noted above to gauge your exam preparedness with or without training.

EMC Proven Professional exams cost $200 and you can search for local testing centers and register for an exam here.  You'll need to begin by Creating Account.

Each certification program has its own relationship with Pearson VUE and you will need to create a VUE account for each certification program.  Sounds like you do not yet have an EMC Pearson VUE account.  Once you create this account, an EMCID will be created and sent to you via email.

What are you trying to do ? If you are trying to go through practice test, no username is needed. Just put your name.

For other contents you can create an ID even with gmail, which will give you access to a few contents but not all.

That's the right page for beginning the exam registration process.  From there you will need to either "Sign In" or "Create Account" where you are asked for a username/password. Underneath that are links to assist candidates if they forgot their username and/or password.

Remember, candidates will have a separate Pearson VUE account for each testing program s/he has tested with.  To identify which program you are accessing, the company name is part of the URL: www.pearsonvue.com/companyname
