XPS 15 9510

XPS 15 9510

My dell laptop XPS 9510 bought in 2021 and that came with my Dell app and all features. Last two day my windows is corrupted and I using the os recovery tool to install new windows. Now my laptop hasn’t my Dell app and I can’t control the power manager app etc. I already installed all driver from dell website. I also contacted to dell community and they said my laptop doesn’t support my Dell app? I don’t know why they said like that! If anyone knows please let me know.

Hi nay win:

What is your Windows operating system (if Win 10 or Win 11 please include the the version and build shown at settings | System | About | Windows Specifications) and has your service warranty expired yet?

I don't have an XPS but I'll post some information that might be useful while you're waiting for one of the XPS users to provide assistance.

Do you mean that you installed the Dell Power Manager Service v3.15.0 (rel. 26-Jul-2023, Dell-Power-Manager-Service_YX9MN_WIN64_3.15.0_A00.EXE) that is listed <here> on the support page for your XPS 15 9510? If so, you might want to uninstall it before attempting to install any My Dell app. The "Important Information" section of that download notes that the Dell Power Manager Service is now integrated into My Dell (XPS, Inspiron, and Vostro users) or Dell Optimizer (Latitude, Precision, and OptiPlex users) and if you read he "Fixes & Enhancements" section of the Nov 2021 release notes <here> for the older Dell Power Manager Service v3.10.0 it says "Added the option in the Dell Power Manager installer to uninstall Dell Power Manager version 3.10 when MyDell version is 1.8.35, 1.9.2, or later". If I recall correctly Dell Power Manager v3.9.0 was the last standalone version of this program that was listed on my Inspiron 5584 at Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features, and Dell Power Manager v3.9.0 was automatically uninstalled from my system in late 2021 after Dell Power Manager v3.10.0 was released.

Dell is rolling out a new My Dell v3.x application, and many users have reported an error when installing this application (see moosaa's 26-May-2023 Error 2762 When Installing MyDell for one example). Unfortunately, this new My Dell 3.x application is not listed <here> (yet?) on the support page for your XPS 15 9510, and when I enter you computer model at the download page <here> for the current My Dell v3.0.447.3 (rel. 28-Jul-2023, MyDell-Application-Full-Installer_J0G9C_WIN_3.0.447.3_A00.EXE) your XPS 15 9510 is not listed as a compatible model. I'm not sure why since the XPS 15 9520 and XPS 15 9530 are currently compatible.

My Inspiron 5584 still uses the small My Dell v2.x UWP (Microsoft Store) app that was installed on my laptop at the factory. This UWP app requires requires the Fusion Service (currently v2.2.14.0) that is listed <here> on the support page for your XPS 15 9510 to run correctly. See the installation instructions at How to Download and Install the My Dell Application. If the Fusion Service is not already installed on your XPS 15 9510 I assume the My Dell v2.x installer (available on the Microsoft Store at https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/my-dell/9PN7T3JFPRZ6) would automatically install that missing service for you. Let us know what warning or error message you see if that UWP app doesn't install correctly on your system after the Dell Power Manager Service is uninstalled from Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features.

If the current "old-style" My Dell v2.2.4.0 app doesn't install correctly on your XPS 15 9510 then you might have to wait until Dell rolls out the "new-style" My Dell v3.x application to more computer models.

Thanks for your solution, lmacri. My dell app on windows store is version 3.**. So, I cannot install anymore. Because in their compatible list, XPS 9510 is exceptional. All others app are fine to use just only My dell app is not possible to install. I needs to wait their update.
