XPS 15 9570 - How to reinstall My Dell app?

XPS 15 9570

XPS 15 9570

I have a Dell XPS 15 9570 and basically everytime there is a new Dell Power Manager update, I need uninstall My Dell first and then reinstall My Dell from Microsoft Store which I was able to do this April 2023.  However, today when I uninstalled My Dell so I can install the Dell Power Manager, I have not found a way to install My Dell as basically Microsoft Store will not even show My Dell when I search for My Dell so I have to use the instructions here:
https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000200388/how-to-download-and-install-the-my-dell-application but when i opens up the Microsoft Store app, there is no install button.

I had already tried the solution which worked for others a few years ago with the following in the command prompt:
Step 1:
Open the cmd window and Run as Administrator.
Then Run these two commands one by one.
REG ADD "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Store" /v OEMID /f /t REG_SZ /d DELL
REG ADD "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Store" /v StoreContentModifier /f /t REG_SZ /d Dell_inspiron
After that please restart the system.
Step 2:
In the Search bar type "wsreset" and it will open a Black Screen.
Wait until it will open the MS Store.

and ofcourse I use the instructions at https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000200388/how-to-download-and-install-the-my-dell-application again but there is no install button once Microsoft Store app opens.

So somehow the XPS 15 9570 somehow became incompatible with My Dell in Microsoft Store over the past few months and the Full My Dell installers also says the system is incompatible.

I understand that you're experiencing difficulties reinstalling the My Dell application on your Dell XPS 15 9570, and it seems to have become incompatible with your system. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Clear Microsoft Store Cache:
It seems like you've already tried running the wsreset command, but it's worth attempting it again. Make sure to open the Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command. Afterward, restart your system and check if the Microsoft Store behaves differently.

Check for Windows Updates:
Sometimes, Windows updates can affect the compatibility of apps. Ensure your Windows operating system is up to date by checking for and installing any available updates. Sometimes, a pending update can cause compatibility issues.

Uninstall Any Residual My Dell Components:
Before attempting a reinstall, ensure that all residual components of My Dell are completely removed from your system. Use the "Add or Remove Programs" feature to uninstall any My Dell-related software, if present.

Use the Dell Support Website:
Instead of relying solely on the Microsoft Store, you can try downloading and installing the My Dell application directly from the official Dell support website. Visit the Dell support page for your specific laptop model and download the latest version of the My Dell application for your system.

Contact Dell Support:
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it might be worthwhile to reach out to Dell's customer support for assistance. They may be able to provide specific guidance or even a solution tailored to your particular laptop model and system configuration.

Consider Alternative Software:
If My Dell continues to be incompatible with your system, you might want to explore alternative software solutions that offer similar system management and diagnostic features. There are third-party applications available that can provide similar functionality.

Please remember to back up any important data before making significant changes to your system. It's important to ensure that you are downloading software from trusted sources to avoid any security risks.

Hi @Almighty1 :

When I enter your XPS 15 9570 model at https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=j0g9c (the download page for the current v3.0.447.3 installer released 28-Jul-2023 for the "new" MyDell v3.x) it shows that your computer model is still not compatible.

If you are still having problems installing the "legacy" MyDell v2.x UWP (Microsoft Store) app then please see XPS_Man's 23-Sep-2023 suggestion in cannot install my dell application after reinstalling windows 11 and even the tech suppport is not helping to enter the command winget install 9PN7T3JFPRZ6 in an elevated command prompt with Administrator rights.

Dell is apparently aware that users are currently having issues installing the "legacy" MyDell v2.x app from the Microsoft Store at https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/my-dell/9PN7T3JFPRZ6 and are trying to fix the problem.

Also note that your power management is now integrated into newer releases of the "legacy" MyDell v2.x UWP app, and that is why you will see an error message if you try and install the standalone Dell Power Manager v3.x when MyDell v2.x is installed on your system.  See my 25-May-2023 post in Hoang99's Inspiron 13 5310, DPMS was deleted services when I turn on for more information.  If I scroll down and click the Power tile shown below in the interface of the MyDell v2.2.6.0 app on my Inspiron 5584 this opens the integrated Power Manager settings.

-------------
Dell Inspiron 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.3448 * Firefox v117.0.1 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.23080.2006-1.1.23080.2005 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.3.282-1.0.2151 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7279 * Dell Update for Windows Universal v5.0.0 * My Dell v2.2.6.0 * Fusion Service v2.2.14.0
