Turn Off /Remove Mobile Connect System Tray Icon and Notifications

Model 5676 Windows 10 New PC. There's a phone icon that pops up in my system tray saying that my phone is disconnected. Clicking it opens a window for Dell Mobil Connect and a link to the app. I don't want the app and I don't want an icon in my taskbar with a disconnected notification. I've tried all the normal ways of removing the icon but it's not even listed. I deleted ALL the Dell software and startups that I can find. The icon is still there and now I get a popup saying the Mobil Connect drivers need to be downloaded. I don't want any of this stuff. Help would be appreciated.

In Settings->System->Notifications->Dell Mobile Connect   select off.

Do you have Dell SupportAssist installed? It can be hard to uninstall it, so it may still be lurking in the background and that's why it's asking for Mobile Connect drivers. You may need to run Revo Uninstaller (free version) to make SupportAssist go away.

See if there's anything helpful here:

I finally found the option to uninstall it in Settings/Apps and Features. I'm new to Windows 10 so it took awhile. Thanks.

@OzzieToo- Always include exact PC model and version of Windows in your posts.

Have you uninstalled the Mobile Connect app, not just its drivers?

I don't think there's an option to tell SupportAssist to "ignore this alert", so you may be stuck with the nagging if you want to keep SupportAssist.

Would it just be easier to let SupportAssist install the Mobile Connect drivers, even if you never use Mobile Connect, to make it stop pestering you?

Surprisingly the apps did NOT turn up in the Control Panel but did turn up in the Tool list in CCleaner. When I uninstalled it in the latter and restarted the PC, it was gone.

I am using a Dell Inspiron 15-3576, if that makes any difference, and am running Windows 10 Home version 1909 build 18363.657 with a Classic Shell overlay.

I don't want to uninstall Dell SupportAssist as it is useful.

While I can uninstall the Dell Mobile Connect drivers I get a bother window demanding that I install them the next time I log on.

What can I do?

@OzzieToo  - Now you'll just have to see if SupportAssist stops nagging you...

I have a Dell Inspiron 5415 running windows 11 home edition. I'm not great at technology but can get by. I think I have found a way to stop Mobile connect asking you to update drivers and stop the pop up also. On the right side of your taskbar the little upward-pointing arrow ( hidden icons) I found the app in there when I right-clicked on it I got 3 options open, do not disturb or quit. placing my cursor over "do not disturb" I unticked allow phone calls and show pop-ups, I then left-clicked on quit. No more pop-ups no more driver download needed. It worked for me I hope it works for you.
