Is Iolo System Mechanic Safe To Use?

I have a new Dell Laptop and I am wondering if I should renew my Iolo System Mechanic license to use on this new computer.

Previous to this new laptop I owned an HP laptop that came with Iolo System Mechanic. I used the software for the duration of the computer's life, which I ended when I bought this laptop. I never really had any problems with the HP. It lasted me 7-years without any major issues. I wonder if this is because I frequently used System Mechanic to clean out and optimize my HP. I use separate antivirus/malware/firewall software, so I used Iolo for cleaning and optimization purposes.

I am cautious about using System Mechanic on this brand new Dell laptop because I have read some testimonies from Dell users that say Iolo System Mechanic might have screwed up some things on their Dell computer.

Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated.
