Fingerprint Sensor

Ok.... Not sure this the right thread but here goes.

I had a virus on my Dell XPS M1330 and so when I was unable to remove it I restored my computer to it's original state. (Running WIN Vista). at any rate during restoring it informed me my fingerprint reader and fingerprints would not be affected, they were not I didn't need to redo my fingerprints they where all still stored. However when I try to  open any of  the files I created before the restoring. I would get a check mark but then a "not a authorized  user" and I can't open any of my files which are all very important corporate documents. Can anyone help me figure out what I need to do to retrieve my files. I did not use a password :( just my fingerprint. When I create files now I can open but not old ones.
