Dell Peripheral Manager, how to turn off hotkey support?

I am not new to Dell community but you do not seem to have any place to support peripherals. I have a major problem with Dell Peripheral manager. Searching, the only thing I find is someone else having a suggestion with a single response from "Dell" asking for the Service tag of DPM.

So my problem is how do I at least temporarily turn off the hotkey interception or get DPM to pass through specific hotkeys? For example, Excel uses F2 to edit a cell. DPM always blocks that. Visual Studio makes extensive use of the function keys but again, DPM blocks all except F4 and F8. F1 has been help for hundreds of thousands of programs for at least the past 30 years that I have been using Windows. How can you possibly think disabling the help key "improves functionality"? I don't want to uninstall DPM because I need the feature of monitoring battery level. I just need to be able to use the hotkeys again.

And before you ask, the "service tag" on the bottom of both my Dell keyboard and Dell mouse that automatically installed DPM as soon as I plugged them in, is "DELL".

Since Dell doesn't seem to want to answer in public, I will. Finally after 10 private messages asking for things like a service tag ARGH!!! and advising I would need to make changes to the BIOS whenever I want to use normal function keys WHAT!!! someone who knew something about Dell keyboards and software finally gave the very simple answer.

"If the function keys are acting only on their secondary function like turning volume up and down, or muting or changing brightness without having to press Fn, then it is mostly because the function lock is on.
Press FN+ESC to disable the fn lock, this would let you use the F1-12 freely without triggering its secondary function."

Such a simple answer to a simple problem. I wonder why Dell wants to keep it a secret from their "Dell Cares" folks as well as the general public?
