Dell Printer V305W, with Dell Imaging Toolbox.

Dear Sir,

Have a computer tower that is not a Dell that I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Had no problems with scanning with Windows 7. Had problems after the installation and uninstalled the printer and Toolbox and reinstalled it from the Printer Disk from by brother's Dell Laptop. He is not using his computer and I am using his Dell printer to scan files into my computer. After re-installing the programs the Toolbox gave me an error message. I needed to re-install Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0. Needless to say it wouldn't install properly with Windows 10. Tried all the way up to version 3.0 and 4.0 with no results.

Your Dell website says the the Printer is not compatible with Windows 10. Do you plan in the near future to update the Toolbox and Printer Drivers so that I can use it. Without both the printer is basically useless! I really enjoyed using the Toolbox compared to the way some of my other Non-Dell Printers do it.

Appreciate all the help you can give me. Thanks!

Followed the instructions to the letter and it worked perfectly. Now I have my printer and scanner back!

That deserves an A++ for that information.

Paul,

The .net framework error usually comes when the operating system is an upgrade.

Make a system restore point.

First run Delete Print Jobs to remove stuck print job(s) from the queue, then restart your computer.

Make sure the printer is not usb cable connected.

Hit the Windows key and the x keys at the same time, programs and features, your printer, uninstall.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer was removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

Download the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 64-bit. Install the Vista drivers in the Vista Compatibility mode You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on).

Links to the drivers can be found at...

Remember virus programs and firewalls will block communications.
