Dell C1765NFW 009-654 Code:2440000

this error code appeared on my printer a couple of days ago and i can't seem to clear it, I've searched through all forums and have done what pepople have said, I've updated the firmware, cleaned the led looking sensor at the back, I've swapped out all toners but the error is still there. has anyone got a clue what this error actually means

 RonGoldenbeard,

You can try the information posted by a Dell Forum member with this error message. It resolved his issue and could possibly resolve yours as well.

I was able to resolve the dreaded 009-654 on my c1765nfw. I downloaded/installed the usb driver for the printer and connected the printer to a usb port on my computer. I downloaded the latest firmware driver. I started the printer with a toner cartridge removed. I ran the Dell firmware upgrade program and it recognized that the printer was connected and loaded the firmware. When the firmware installation completed, I restarted the printer and everything is working again.

This solution may work on all other Dell printers that experienced the same error.

Hi Ron,

I am not sure where you are located, but I contacted Dell by phone ( I had only bought my printer 4 months ago) and they informed me that (as there is no firmware available to download online) it is not something they can fix over the phone, something to do with the sensors being damaged, and they have organised me with a replacement to come within 1-2 days. In case you're in the UK like I am, here is the link to support numbers. www.dell.com/.../n

This worked for me as well.  The firmware is on the downloads on the Dell website. Download the firmware to your PC and save it.  Start the firmware upgrade  executable. Start with the printer powered down and open the cartridge door and pull one cartridge out.  Switch the power on.  The firmware upgrade program should now recognized the printer and allow the update to start.  Takes a few minutes and the printer will restart itself.  And voila, problem is gone...

I have updated the software (and downgraded to be sure) with the non-wifi version of this printer 1765nf and still the same error code. Any other ideas/ suggestions?
