Dell 1135n Laser Scanning Issue

My scanning option is no longer functioning. As I understand, it has to do with the fact that the SmarThru software that I was using was Windows 10 - not Windows 11 compatible.

It is possible that the issue with your Dell 1135n laser scanner not functioning is related to the compatibility of the SmarThru software with Windows 11. In this case, you may need to find a compatible version of the software or use an alternative scanning software.

Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

Check for driver updates: Go to the Dell support website and search for the latest drivers for your printer/scanner model. Download and install any available updates.

Try using Windows Scan app: Windows 11 has a built-in scanning app called Windows Scan. You can access it by typing "Windows Scan" in the search bar and selecting it from the results. Try scanning a document using this app to see if it works.

Use an alternative scanning software: If the above steps don't work, you can try using an alternative scanning software such as NAPS2, VueScan, or Simple Scan. These are free scanning software that work with a variety of scanners, including the Dell 1135n laser scanner.

Contact Dell support: If none of the above steps work, you may need to contact Dell support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or suggest a solution for the issue.

If you are experiencing scanning issues with your Dell 1135n  laser printer there are several potential causes and troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check connections: Make sure that all cables are properly connected between your printer and computer, and that the printer is powered on.

  2. Restart both printer and computer: Try turning both the printer and computer off, waiting a few seconds, and then turning them back on.

  3. Update drivers: Make sure that you have the latest drivers installed for your printer. You can download the latest drivers from the Dell website.

  4. Check settings: Make sure that your printer is set up correctly to scan. Check the printer settings and make sure that the scanning function is enabled.

  5. Clean scanner: If you are still having issues, you may want to try cleaning the scanner glass with a soft cloth or paper towel.

  6. Reset printer: If none of these steps work, you may want to try resetting the printer to its default settings. This will erase any custom settings you have applied, so make sure you have a backup of any important data.

If none of these steps resolve your scanning issue, you may need to contact Dell customer support for further assistance.
