DELL PRECISION 7520 hard disk drive wipe in bios setup maintenance

When this feature is used from within the bios setup by clicking on the maintenance and continuing with the data wipe, the bios is unable to wipe the data properly and if a power loss occurs or if the machine is turned off due to frozen activity, the notebook bios is left bricked and the user is unable to access the bios setup through F2 or F12.  None of the hardware reset/recovery remedies offered work to recover the bios.
