upgrade RAM Memory

Currently I have a Dell precision 7920 tower with 384GB of RAM (12x32GB). I would like to upgrade to double or more RAM if possible.

One option I want to pursue is placing 128GB modules, so I can have future possibilities of moving to higher RAM.

What configuration would you recommend in this case?
From what I understand, my current configuration will be D384R (from the matrix memory), and if moving to 128GB modules I see I will be moving into something which is LRDIMM, will this imply an issue?
