Thunderbolt 3 in precision 7910

Hey guys I bought a gigabyte Titan ridge tb3 card before I realized that it probably won't work in my computer. I can't get it to work anyway.

Does anyone know how to get Thunderbolt 3 in a 7910 workstation?

Will this card possibly work or any other knowledge on how to do or is it not possible?

The card you linked is NOT for the 7910.

7910 has Thunderbolt 2 card that also requires GPIO and Display port wrap thru cable.

The 7HMHP is the Card.

That doesn't cover the GPIO and Display port cables however.

These are NOT optional.

There are 2 Kits I have Identified.

540-BBJC    UK version

540-BBIO     USA version

GGTXK  is the Display port wrap thru cable.

NK4P3 is the GPIO cable to the motherboard.

Hi @Chuff26 , @speedstep

I also just bought a Titan Ridge TBT3 after spending a lot of time online to find out which card to buy and one that came with all the necessary cables for my T7910 on which I double check I had a TBT header port on the motherboard. I plugged everything and connected both TBT & USB header cables, along with the DP port to MiniDP port wrap through, and connected it to a Lenovo TBT3 dock (Gen2). I get the video signal without problem (and output to my two 2.5k screens via DP from the dock) but I can't get the USB ports to work. They are powered but no data go through (no mouse, keyboard or usb stick connects). I know my dock is working properly because I have no problem using it with my Dell XPS laptop.I looked online for information and tried disconneting and reconnecting everything, re-installed the TBT drivers for the card, dock and the TBT software (Thunderbolt Control Center) to no avail. I read that the security level should be set to None in the Bios which I did, however it still displays the Security level at User Authentification (SL1) in the Control Center...

Any luck on your side setting up the Titan Ridge? Any suggestion for me?

Thanks

-Chris

No, sorry, never did get it to work. I always thought I was close, it would get power to my card reader, recognize the reader it self, but would never read an SD card.

I scraped it all and went back to the slowness of a USB reader.
