Installation Windows 11 Pro for Worstations T5820

Good morning, my system is a Precision T5820 with Windows Pro for Workstation, Xeon W2145, 64gb RAM, 3 NVME drives and several ssd and hdd drives.

My doubt is the following, I want to do a clean install of Windows 11 pro, but I want to be sure if it will work without problems if I do not use the version "for workstation" and that through the clean install I will not lose the original license. Does anyone have clear these questions?

I use the Legacy BIOS, I will have to activate UEFI.

To this change I will add the replacement of my P2000 with a RTX3060 Does this card work in the T5820?

Thank you all very much for your time.

Same answer for Windows 10 Pro for Workstation.  The license will be active again when you restore your machine back to Win 10 or Win 11 Pro for Workstation.

As for the graphics card, Dell shipped the 5820 with either a 425w or a 950w PSU.  So, you are good and ready for upgrade.

If it was originally shipped with your system, you won't lose the Windows Pro for Workstation license after adding a Windows Pro license.

The RTX 3060 will work with your T5820.  Just be sure that your system has a 950w power supply.

Actually the rtx 3060 needs only 170W , so it "may be" ok the 625W psu, but is definitely ok the 825W psu too ( aside the 950 , but if changing it, going with the higher one is always better ).

@Chino de Oro

Hello, thank you very much for your support.
I forgot to mention that the computer was purchased in 2018 and came installed Windows 10 for workstations.

So what I want is to migrate from Windows 10 for workstation to Windows 11 pro via a clean install. In this situation is the license lost?

- Yes my PSU is 950W
