Dell Universal Receiver Error

Hello,

When I plug my Dell Dongle in I get an error as if the thing is bricked.

In the Dell Universal Receiver Control Panel:

ERROR: The receiver was [BLANK]

Firmware version : [BLANK]

Devices Paired : [BLANK]

Any Ideas?

Cheers,

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

You need a specific model mouse to use the inappropriately named Universal device.

Hello Support,
I am having the very same problem with two different universal receivers. Old one bought a long time ago is working fine and recognized by Windows without issues. The new one just arrived with my replacent mouse and also works when connectedto my laptop, all good on the windows side. Both give the exact same error in the Receiver Control Panel. I want to be able tu use my old keyboard and the new mouse with one receiver.

Update:
No help from Support team, the bot keeps asking for service tag (peripheral devices don't have them)
But I was able to pair the both devices to the same receiver using Dell Peripheral Manager software

I am having the same problem. My USB never worked in the first place, and when I tried using the Dell Universal Receiver Control Panel, this exact same error message popped up. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the mouse and the USB receiver via Device manager, but nothing works. Please help.

I have similar situation, after upgrade software to dell peripheral manager there is no option to uninstall my old hardware (keyboard and mouse Km714). This goods are not visible in the software even keyboard is working!!! New mouse MS3320W is visible, so I suppose there is no support for old hardware unfortunatelly. I found information that issue could be solved by firmware update:

I FOUND AN EASY SOLUTION!

This error is caused by some version incompatibility between Dell Pheripheral Manager and the dongle. I lost the original dongle and had to buy another at aliexpress, but had the exactly same error.

First of all, you have to search at https://www.dell.com/support/home/pt-br/?app=products the model of your devices.

Click on the model and then you look for "Drivers and Download" tab:

Scroll down and you'll find "Dell Peripheral Manager". Expand it and click on "Older versions".

I downloaded the versions 1.6.0 and 1.6.1 and both worked. ("DPeM_DNM0M_1.6.0_WN64_A00" // "DPeM_T7T4F_1.6.1_WN64_A00")

After downloading and installing one of the versions, you'll run the application and will follow the instructions to pair the devices. That's it Hope I've helped, because Dell is far from solve this problem.

We seem to be on our own with this problem, as the support (sic) from Dell is pretty lamentable.  I logged in and found my keyboard/mouse combo but was simply directed to some online bumph, which didn't resolve the problem.  Oh well; Logitech, here I come...
