Dell Precision 3630

Hi,

I have a question regarding the PCI slot of Precision 3630, Does it support PCI 2.4 version?

We will use it for Call accounting system. I've checked the manuals but it doesn't indicate the version of the PCI slot(not PCiE)

Thank you!

Cheers, David

32 bit 33mhz Universal PCI 2.2 has not been supported for over 10 years now.

There are no 5v conventional PCI Slots.

So using vacuumm tube cards is not recommended.

The line code for newer chip sets is also different.

Legacy CSM would also be required for older cards to work at all.

8b/10b         5.0 GT/s  is slower than
128b/130b  8.0 GT/s

The bus will not down clock to the 2.X speed or line code.

Older Optiplex models like the GX620, 745, 760, 790 etc support ancient PCI.

Fitting into the slot is not the same as working.

i would recommend this specific legacy model from 2007 for your application
