Powerstore 500T 4-port card bond0 best practices
Hello,
we have 2 esxi servers and I want to connect them with Powerstore 500T over nvme-tcp. Both servers have 2x 25 Gb pNICs dedicated for the storage connection and are connected to the switch. Best practice is that every server should have 2x seperate vlans/subnets, both connected to one Powerstore node. But Powerstore 500T have built-in bond0 on first two 25 Gb ports on a 4-port card, that means 1 node can only have 1 vlan/subnet. So what is now the best practice? Both pNICs on esxi must be in same subnet but different IPs?

Hello matejjenko,
The server will have access to storage via 1Pnic at a time. If one connection has faulted then it will switch connects to the next active connection, as long as multipathing is setup correctly.

Hello,
that is where I got the info. But 500T has bond0 over 2 ports so 1 controller can only be in 1 VLAN. Best practice form this manual is stating, that server should have every connection in different subnet/vlan. That means server will only have access to storage controller over 1 pNIC.
