powerpath lun pseudo device naming issue with format output solaris10
disk naming issue ,showing two different names in format and powermt output
in format the emc lun pseudo name comes as emcpower0d
in powermt o/p Pseudo nameas emcpower0a

Hi! Sorry for the delay. From a format point of view it doesn’t matter which slice used for LUN identification. Powermt display uses slice “a”. As I understand it has only historical reasons.
Yes, it is known, but it is not really an issue
2. Can users ignore it or will it cause them issues?
Yes, users can ignore the difference in slice name
3. Can they make both names common/same?
No, it is not possible at this time to bring powermt display and the Oracle format utility into agreement.
