No HP performance agent running and PPATH devices are not usable. Would you please advice?
The Sun Bugid 6912703 was a Solaris 10 bug that was fixed with Kernel patch 144500-19. I do not see an equivalent reference for a Solaris 11. I verified that there were no HP agent running but neither complete re-scan at the OS level followed by "powermt config" and "powermt check force reconfig", "powermt save", etc resolved the issue. Solaris 11 SRU 2q2014 - HPOvPerfMI - 11.11.025 and PPATH 5.5P2.
So ctds were configured and the format can see them but neither /devices/pseudo/emcp@xxxx nor the emcpower a entries in the format utility are there for the new disks.
Thanks. Hugo

Hi,
1) Firstly we need confirm the MPxIO is not enabled, Please run the following commands and make sure the mpxio-disable=yes; if the flag is not set to "yes", please correct it;
cat /kernel/drv/fp.conf | grep "mpxio-disable"
cat /etc/driver/drv/fp.conf | grep "mpxio-disable"
cat /kernel/drv/iscsi.conf | grep "mpxio-disable"
cat /etc/driver/drv/iscsi.conf | grep "mpxio-disable"
Please make sure the external disks will not listed by the following command:
prtconf -vc /devices/scsi_vhci |grep dev_link.*s2
If the MPxIO is enabled, please run the command "stmsboot -d" to disable the MPxIO, please note this command will reboot the OS;
2) Secondly please confirm the class of the array is in maaged status in PowerPath;
You can run the command "powermt display options" to confirm the specified array is under managed status. If it is not managed, please run the command "powermt manage class=XXX ", "XXX" can be {all|symm|vnx|clariion|vplex|invista|hitachi|hpxp|ess|xtremio|generic}
3) Run the commnands to rescan the new LUNs:
powermt check force;
powermt config;
powermt save;
Hope this works.
