Default Mode?
After installing PP/VE, and prior to applying the license, is there a default mode in which it will run in? Or does it fall back on the VM multipath settings?

After Installation of PowerPath/VE 5.7, it will be running in optimum path policy mode.

It runs the default mode for PowerPath however you must have an installed license before you can monitor the status of the PowerPath component on the ESX host.
