Show RAID and disks in Windows Server
Hi,
I would like to know if there is a soft for Windows (server 2019) to display the RAID, the physical drives, maybe the SMART too, on a PowerEdge R440. I can't just reboot to go in the BIOS and all. The Windows volume manager is just showing one big disk but I assume there is a RAID and I'd like to get all the info about disks. Is there an easy way to do that ?
Thanks for your help.

There is OMSA(OpenManage Server Administrator) for Windows/Linux which you need to install.
The iDRAC Tools (racadm) which can be installed on Windows, Linux, ESXi can query the iDRAC through the OS and you will be able to fetch all hardware and alarms.
If your PowerEdge is equipped with a iDRAC you also get the infos there by point your Browser to the iDRAC IP. The iDRAC also offer SNMP/Redfish.

All tools i mentioned are original Dell Software and free for use with you PowerEdge Server.
Download OMSA 11.0.1:
https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=3j5rf&oscode=ws22l&productcode=poweredge-r760
Note: OMSA will go EOL later this year and will be replaced by iDRAC + the small ISM within the GuestOS.
OMSA:
Its mainly a Web app and you point your browser to https://serverOrIP:1311 . If you wanna access the GUI from remote you need to open 1311/tcp within the windows firewall.
iDRAC:

Hi !
Thanks for the quick answer :) All I can see for now is a Perc H330 board. Is the iDrac supposed to show in the device manager ?
Are OMSA and Racdam free to download and use without licence concern ?
Thanks again !

@BenCo34
Is the iDrac supposed to show in the device manager ?
No.. the iDRAC is the integrated Dell Remote Access Card.... its ILO, iRMC (how other vendors named there solutions)
Every Dell server have an iDRAC but i comes in different flavours like Basic/Express or Enterprise or Enterprise Adv. So you get different features.
The iDRAC normaly have a dedicated NIC(the one with the wrench symbol) or share one of the LOMs with your GuestOS(not so common).
If your PowerEdge have the LCD Bezel you can look how iDRAC is setup or you can configure it.
Same and more is possible with racadm.exe (its a command line tool)

Joerg

There is https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=9vtvt&lwp=rt

It would have been nice but it is unable to find any controller.
The command :
perccli64.exe show all
returns :
Number of controllers =0
Too bad ^^

Hey maybe you can help with that too ?
I'm not familiar with servers hardware and SAS. OMSA says my Perc H330 is embedded, should I understand that there is not dedicated board ?
Also, how can I check how many disk I could add in the server ? For now there are 4x 2,4To SAS 2,5". On the front of the server I see 4 free racks for HD, but they look different thant the populated racks. I have tried to find Perc H330 specs to check how many drives I can connect to it, but I'm not sur that's the way it works. Can you help me about these questions ?
Many thanks again :)

The H330 supports up to 32* physical disks. The 4 slots on the right are covered by blind adapter. So you need disks and trays. You should check dell.de/support and after insert your service tag you can select "product specification" on the right. I expect a model with 8x2.5" backplane.
* Depends on the choosen raid level(for example a RAID 1 are max. 2 phys. Disks + one Hotspare).
Keep in mind that the H330 is a low cost Raid HBA without cache and battery. If you find a H730/H740 mini it might be a good replacement.

Ok they're speaking about 8x 2,5" chassis (ASSY,CHAS,2.5X8,HP,OCP,R440), but not about backplate. Should I assume it's the same ?
