R240 hard drives replacement

Dear all,

I own a R240 server used as a homelab. It runs 2 DATA hard drives managed by a PERC H330 under RAID1 configuration. I'm thinking about the replacement of the current drives by SDD drives. Since this is a homelab, I'm just asking me if any NAS grade SSD would be suitable. I've read somewhere, there could be some firmware interaction between DELL disks and the H330 card. So not sure other SSD would actually work...

Any experience about such scenarios?

Cheers

Hello,

Non-Dell drives are not validated. They may work or they may not. That is probably what you have heard. Maybe someone in the community has tried it and can share their experience.

These are just a couple Dell branded SSD drives I see listed for the R240.

I recommend contact Sales and give them your criteria and they can quote you options for purchase.
