PowerEdge T340 - increase disk space on RAID 1

I have a DELL PowerEdge T340 server (OS Windows Server 2019) with two 1TB HDD SATA in RAID 1, I would like to increase the size of the disks to at least 2TB. So my idea is to buy 2 new disks...

What is the correct procedure to do this?

I seem to have understood that I can proceed to replace one disk at a time since they are hot swappable even with the machine turned on. Wait for RAID 1 to be rebuilted on the new disk and proceed with the other disk with the same operation.

Once the disks have been replaced, however, I imagine that the available space will still be 1TB. How do you expand the capacity to 2TB while also showing the unused space? From which interface or which procedure should I perform?

If there is a smarter and more efficient solution let me know, I'm open to all suggestions. Bear in mind that I don't have much experience and therefore I would like to perform a fairly simple procedure.

Thanks to anyone who can give me some suggestions

LarryPurple,

What you are wanting to do is called an Online Capacity Expansion, as described on this article and video , and depending on the controller installed you can use the Replace Member function if available.

Let me know if this helps.
