New WD Red Plus

Hello,

I've been trying to find a solution on here and couldn't come up with one.

I've purchased 3 4TB WD Red Plus and I can see 2 of the drives in iDrac but the third just has a flashing green light. Assuming the drive was damaged in shipping, I ordered another and I'm having the same issue.

I've moved it to another slot to see if it would work there, no luck.

Any ideas?

A flashing light usually means the server backplane doesnt match the protocol of the drive. For example, putting an nvme drive in a sas/sata backplane, or vice versa.

@DELL-Rey G Could it mean anything else? Considering the other 2 identical drives work in the same slots.

I've read that the flashing means 'Identifying drive or preparing for removal.'

In looking at the system log, it does recognize that the drive  has been removed//installed, but does  not show in the list of physical disks.

@DELL-Rey G Yes, all 3 are identical.
