8Drive Swappable Config

I have a T320.

It has one MiniSas cable connected to the back panel and to the motherboard.

I can get the top 4 drives to show up on the system but not the bottom 4.

I'm a bit lost here as I think the manual suggests that I don't need any other connections. Should there be two cables connected to the backpanel and to the motherboard or a PCIE raid controller?

If I need a raid controller can someone suggest one to use ?

According to the Dell T320 manual, you typically only need one MiniSAS cable connected to the back panel and motherboard for the 8Drive Swappable Config. However, if you're experiencing issues where only the top 4 drives are showing up, it's possible there may be a connectivity issue or a need for additional configurations.

To ensure all 8 drives are recognized, first double-check the connections and ensure they are secure. If the problem persists, you may consider checking if a PCIe RAID controller is required for proper functionality.

As for RAID controllers, Dell offers a range of compatible options based on your specific needs and budget. I recommend reaching out to Dell support or checking their official website for recommended RAID controllers suitable for your T320 configuration.

Hope this helps, and let me know if you need further assistance!

Hello, I’d also ask what RAID controller you are using.

Does it look like this?
