Event ID 49 and 24 on Intel Ethernet 10G x520 Adapter

Hi

We have dell PE R630 with Intel Ethernet 10G x520 Adapter. The server is connected to Single mode Fiber using a SFP+ transceiver. It has Windows Server 2016 Standard installed on it. We saw yellow exclamation in device manager and the event viewer said Unable to start network adapter with event ids 49 followed by 24 in both the ports. We tried updating the drivers first. That did not help. We then bought the Dell LR transceiver module and swapped them. It also did not work. We turned off the server, pressed the power button after unplugging the module and the power cords for few seconds. Connected them back and powered on but still the same. Can you let us know what could be wrong and how to go ahead from here.

Hi @s_shankar,

Sound like a OS compatibility issue, but let's check that out.

I checked that event ID 24, seems that the server's time and the windows time does not match. Probably might need to check that out, there are some Microsoft forum about it. For event ID 49, it seems that it might be sourced from a corrupted driver/software installation. These are the findings I can find about the event ID codes.

Without any SFP+ connected to the card, does the card have any yellow exclamation mark?

From a technical point of view, check if the card is detected in iDRAC/LCC. Check if the firmware is up to date. Also check if iDRAC/LCC and BIOS firmware is up to date too. Does this card work on another system? Is this a bought from Dell? Does it contain any Dell PN#?
