Dell PowerEdge R430 with 10TB SAS

Hi,

I have Dell Poweredge R430 server. windows is freshly installed on the server.

It had 1 TB SATA drive.

It is required to add another hard drive with specification of (10 TB SAS drive)

Please note that no PERC module installed on the server.

is SAS 10 TB compatible with my server? if so, any help to configure it into my server?

Hello,

You might consider checking the BIOS to see if the onboard software RAID controller is enabled. The SATA operation mode you would want to see is AHCI, but it might be set to RAID On, if you're seeing that message. This is a different controller from an add-in PCI card, so I would definitely start there. This should be listed in SATA Settings of the BIOS menu.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.
